On Saturday 20 October at 13:00 Web Carnival Speaker Katherine Reilly will facilitate “Transversal Competencies in the ELT Environment” in Room A and Maryam Mirshahnasab will share “Beyond the Traditional Classroom: How VR Transforms IELTS Speaking Teaching Practices“ in Room B.

Room A: Transversal Competency (TC) is essential in modern education but challenging to integrate, especially in language learning. It equips students with skills to meet academic and social demands. This study analyzes approaches to facilitate TC tools in education, focusing on their application in enhancing cognitive and communication competencies through the ELT learning model, utilizing appropriate tools and strategies to optimize the learning environment.

Getting Children Back to School During COVID-19

Helping children transition back into the routine of school is not going to be easy. Routines have been shattered. There is plenty to worry about, and the new normal feels anything but “business as usual.” Add to this children’s sensitivity to the feelings of their caregivers, both teachers and parents, and we are about to toss our children into a simmering pot of stress that could raise their anxiety and leave them harmed for years to come.
