How many times have you felt that your efforts at work were frowned upon, or simply disregarded, whereas, your coworkers always manage to be in the spotlight and in many cases rewarded for insignificant tasks? How often do you feel as if no one notices the hard effort you put into a project while the ‘popular’ ones reap the fruits of a new promotion, a salary raise or even approval? This is most often the case in many working environments today, as the ‘image’ one promotes, can most certainly affect the ones around us, and in many cases receive praise, even if he doesn’t deserve it. Public Relation (PR) Skills is, whether we like it or not, a necessary tool for survival in today’s frantic and most competitive job market. The question remains though… How should PR skills be used and to what capacity?

Serenity, Success and Sacrifices

All too often, we find ourselves lost in our thoughts, pondering who we are and what our role in life is. Some deal with this by setting goals; the endless pursuit of professional success, at the cost of happiness. Others try to compensate by indulging into false satisfactions of joy; be it shopping, a celebrity status in social media or even by pursuing universal notions of social acceptance via marriage and having kids. The question though we should be asking ourselves is, what do we want in our lives and what are we willing to sacrifice in order to achieve it?

Foreign Languages: Knowledge vs Certification

Many a time, my students are overwhelmed by their anxiety as exam period looms over the horizon. Exams and certification – especially in Greece, have come to be interpreted as a matter of life or death, adding to young learners’ frustration.

What many scholars and parents neglect to comprehend is, what the true purpose of accumulating knowledge is. Are our children studying to learn, or are they meticulously trying to ‘master’ an evaluation test?

Choosing the Best Career

Here it is… the question which ponders everyone’s mind before adulthood. What career should I choose? How simple a decision is this? Should it be taken lightly? Are we overthinking it?

To be honest, this is a life decision which should be carefully examined. However, it’s not something that should stress you out. The secret is to carefully organize your thoughts and follow a few simple steps.
